Competence development and lifelong learning are central elements of an integrated EMF approach to developing employment, employability and competitiveness in the European metal industry. Education and training have also become a central element of the anticipation of change in the manufacturing industry in Europe.

Lifelong learning is a horizontal approach linked to industrial policy, collective bargaining, social dialogue and company policy.

Common grounds for referencing qualifications frameworks

The EMF is an associated partner to this EU funded project.

The overall aim of the project is to create common grounds for referencing national qualifications frameworks (NQF) and sectoral qualifications/competence frameworks (SQF) to the European Qualifications Framework (EQF), thereby providing for comparability of qualifications on the basis of learning outcomes defined in terms of abilities required by work processes.
