CALL FOR TENDER: STUDY ON “THE PERSPECTIVES OF THE EUROPEAN LAND ARMAMENT SECTOR”

The European land armament industry, which is primarily based on national competencies, is one of the leading defence industries in the world. However, the actors in this field face decisive questions about the sustainability, the interoperability and the human resources of their national industries. From military, economic and ecological standpoints, the European land armament industry has not yet reached its full potential. The stakeholders have to find common grounds to develop a sustainable European defence industry that is able to answer the challenges of the 21th century.

Train and Railway Infrastructure Network (TRAIN) Project

The TRAIN (Train and Rail Infrastructure Network) project, on which this tender is based, has been initiated by the European Metalworkers’ Federation and with the financial support of the European Union in order to improve the anticipation of change and help European works councils in the European rail industry to improve their knowledge on European policies, restructuring and European regulation.

Identifying the actors in the shipbuilding sector in view of setting up a European Shipbuilding Council on Jobs and Skills

On behalf of the European Shipbuilding Social Dialogue Committee, CESA has been awarded a grant application for a Research Study entitled "Identifying the actors in the shipbuilding sector in view of setting up a European Shipbuilding Council on Jobs and Skills". The project is supported by the European Commission (Budget line 04.04.01.03) executed by EMF and CESA in the framework of the Shipbuilding European Social Dialogue.
The deadline for receipt of tenders is 30 days from the date of publication of this call for tenders on the website of CESA and EMF. All tenders must be submitted in writing by email to the project coordinator Ms. Lidia Luca at LiL@cesa.eu.

Transferring know-how in order to safeguard production capacities in the European metalworking industries

The objective of this project is to initiate a reflection process in the area of forward-looking management of jobs and skills based on the transfer of know-how from employees reaching retirement age to newly-recruited employees, thus making it possible to lay down the foundations of future agreements between the social partners on this subject.

Conference report EWC

The expert will draft the final report based on the conference debate and the steering committee guidelines. The final report which will publish the results is aimed to generate a broader discussion amongst EWC members and trade unionist at company level.

The final Report is expected to be focused on detailed recommendations on how to improve workers’ involvement in multinational companies with a view to better anticipate and manage change and develop employability. A special focus will be placed on the implementation of the new EWC Directive and its implications for a better management of change
