10/02/2010

EMF Workshop “Naval shipbuilding in Europe – current developments and perspectives 2020” on 9th and 10th February 2010 in Hamburg

In the framework of the project “New Prospects for the European Naval Industry: Challenges and Opportunities for Employment and Innovation” the EMF is organizing two workshops and a conference to develop tools to anticipate potential consequences for employees from current economic shifts in the naval sector.

At the first workshop on 9th and 10th February 2010 in Hamburg, findings from the country reports from Great Britain, France, Italy, Spain and Germany were presented to a large audience of employers, works councils, and trade unionists. The empirical insight into the naval sector served to discuss potential fields of European cooperation among unions involved in naval shipbuilding.

The second workshop is scheduled to take place 13th April 2010 in Lorient, France. Findings from the project and both workshops shall be presented during the conference taking place 31st May 2010 in Brussels.
