Solidarity with the workers at Boeing
During the 37th Grand Lodge Convention in Orlando, Florida of the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers (IAM) a global request for solidarity with Boeing workers in the United States was published.
At 00:01 Sunday morning, the IAM, the largest union at the Boeing Company went on strike at the Company's facilities in Kansas, Oregon, and Washington State. Issues of critical matter are job security, compensation and benefits. With an enormous backlog of orders and billions of dollars in profits, it is hard to imagine why the Company would be so resistant to reaching an acceptable agreement at this time.
