Dispute in Bosal Kocaeli, Turkey, resolved on 9th May

After weeks of struggle in Bosal Kocaeli, Turkey, positive news has reached the EMF: the dispute has been resolved and the dismissed workers reinstated.

The Bosal case just goes to show what workers’ and trade union solidarity can achieve. The EMF supports the Birlesik’s and Bosal workers’ fight to defend the dismissed workers and their right to freedom of association and thanks the Belgian and European trade union colleagues for their continuing support.

The letter of our Turkish colleagues illustrates in detail how the workers’ solidarity led to a victory.

EMF and IMF Mobilising globally against precarious work 2008

The EMF and the IMF are launching a global campaign against precarious employment. This will come to a focus point on the 7 October 2008, when the EMF and the IMF organise a global action day against precarious employment.
