Collective Bagaining Co-ordination

The first thematic Press Event at the EMF takes place on 3 May 2006 at the EMF Secretariat in Brussels. The event goes under the theme of Collective Bargaining Co-ordination.
The EMF’s press and communication work is being given a new impetus and this event is the first to be organized as part of our new policy and indeed the first of a series of press events on a specific theme.
Programme:
- Short presentation on the EMF and its current and future press work including a brief introduction to its PR Unit. By EMF General Secretary, Peter Scherrer
- Presentation of the EMF work on collective bargaining. By EMF Deputy General Secretary, Bart Samyn and EMF Advisor on Collective Bargaining, Dr. Jochen Gollbach
- Launch of an EMF book entitled “Milestones on the long and hard road towards an EMF co-ordinated collective bargaining strategy” describing the process by which the EMF arrived at its current strong position as regards co-ordination and is seen as a forerunner in this respect.
- Presentation of the Report of the proceedings of the EMF Collective Bargaining Conference in Rome in October 2005, which also marked the launch of the EMF First Common Demand, a new step in our co-ordination strategy.
- Presentation of the EMF First Common Demand: The individual right to training guaranteed by collective agreements – an EMF 4-year campaign where for the very first time the same demand is put forward in all collective bargaining rounds in all European countries.
- Presentation of a book by Dr. Jochen Gollbach on the ‘Europeanisation’ of the trade unions, published under the title “Europäisierung der Gewerkschaften - Praktische Ansätze im Spannungsverhältnis nationaler und europäischer Strukturen und Traditionen".
