Call for rally 24 May 2006 PSA Ryton
Following their decision to oppose closure of the PSA site at Ryton (UK), the European trade unions, under the co-ordination umbrella of the European Metalworkers’ Federation (EMF), have decided to hold a rally of all the trade union organisations, at 11.30 a.m. on 24th May in front of PSA’s headquarters, situated at 75, avenue de la Grande Armée, 75016 Paris.
The aim of the rally is to reiterate the European unions’ stand:
· Their opposition to closure of the Ryton site
· Their solidarity with their British colleagues
· Their demand that management give proper consideration to all alternative industrial solutions, especially those put forward by their British colleagues, with a view to pursuing activities at Ryton
· Their call for full discussions with management on the PSA Group’s future industrial strategy.
Representatives from the various trade unions as well as representatives of the EMF and the IMF (International Metalworkers’ Federation) will speak at the rally.
Please contact Isabelle Barthès at the EMF Secretariat regarding the practical details.
