The press is invited to attend a press conference in connection with the 1st Company Policy Conference of the EMF “Workers’ Involvement in Multinational Companies: a Challenge for the Trade Unions in the metalworking sector”

The EMF Secretariat is happy to invite the press to a press conference at 12H00 on 22nd November at the end of the first plenary session of the Conference. This is the first conference organised by the EMF on company policy. The conference participants are active in the European Works Councils (EWCs) of major multinational companies in the metalworking sector. The conference will provide a forum for discussion of trade union responses towards multinational companies and their global strategies.

The conference aims are:
· To stimulate a debate and an exchange between the participants about their experience with MNCs, EWCs and related issues
· To reflect upon the EMF political stances adopted so far in the field of company policy
· To identify priorities to improve trade union influence in MNCs.

The EMF General Secretary, Peter Scherrer, and Chairman of the EMF Company Policy Committee, Berthold Huber, will attend the press conference and be available to answer your questions.
