Halt to the Power8 plan

YES to a European aeronautics leader capable of developing and creating jobs

The European Metalworkers’ Federation (EMF) is calling for a European Action Day against the Power8 plan on 16th March. Trade unions in the countries where there are Airbus production sites will take part together with workers employed by its subcontractors (i.e. in Belgium and the Netherlands).

Furthermore the action is not limited to the production sites of Airbus and its suppliers but also involves all EADS sites throughout Europe.

The workers and their representatives are demanding:

NO to selling off sites
NO to site closures
NO to job cuts
NO to the only justification being to cut costs
YES to an industrial plan geared to the future based on innovation and know-how development
YES to a European industrial policy for the aerospace sector which gives support to the efforts in R&D that are essential for the development of this industry
